Dúbravský is interested in the caterpillars for various reasons. Firstly, there are species among them that are supposed to be protected and on the other hand, it's for their purely painting potential. "Many people remain a kind of a mental larva all their life, that will never transform into anything useful, the humankind as a whole is in a sort of a larval stage," says Dúbravský and is reflecting on himself, "am I myself such larva?" Greedy larvae are a symbol of endless effort to grow and consumerism (for example the painting "Hairy Caterpillars in a Nest"). The installation of 700kg of worn clothes that covers the floor of ATELIER XIII relates to consume and accumulation ("fast fashion" is one of the most polluting industries in the world). According to Dúbravský, the installation on the floor evokes the environment of a kind of a "nest of larvae."
